March is National Nutrition Month, a time to focus on eating healthy and making smart food choices. This year’s theme, Food Connects Us, highlights how food does more than fuel our bodies. It unites people from different cultures, communities, and generations.

Food connects us in special ways, like. Sharing food helps us bond, create memories, and support wellness. It even breaks down language barriers, offering a universal way to communicate care, love, and tradition.

Embrace this year’s theme by trying these practices each week in March:

Week 1-Connect with

  • Find ways to learn more about what you eat. Research where your food comes from and learn more about local community resources.

Week 2-Work with a Nutrition Expert

  • Talk with a medical professional for advice about achieving your health and nutrition goals. Your health plan probably covers counseling with a registered dietitian, but you may have to ask your doctor for a referral.

Week 3- Explore the Relationship Between Food and Culture

  • Step out of your comfort zone and experiment with new ingredients and tastes. Try dishes from other cultures or inject new flavors into your traditions. Share these meals with friends and family.

Week 4-Build Connection Across All Stages of Life

  • Discover how nutritional needs change with age and find ways to include healthy foods from all food groups. Create a diet that blends sustainability into healthy eating habits.

As we celebrate National Nutrition Month, remember that food choices reflect our personal health and our shared humanity. Let’s connect over meals, embrace cultural diversity, and nourish ourselves and each other to build stronger, healthier communities.
