March is always noted as National Nutrition Month® (NNM) by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Every year the AND determines a new theme for NNM, which focuses on tips and ideas for focusing on healthy tips and tricks to improve nutrition and increase physical activity.

The theme for 2021 is: Personalize Your Plate. This topic stresses that every person is different, and every person’s approach to eating healthy and improving healthy habits should be as unique as the individual. Since NNM is a month, the AND breaks down healthy eating into four weekly goals with tips associated with helping you develop habits to improve your nutrition and well-being.

Week 1: Eat a variety of nutritious foods every day.

Week 2: Plan your meals each day.

Week 3: Learn skills to create tasty meals.
