Do you find yourself feeling sluggish midday and looking for a pick me up? Perhaps you should try focusing on eating something that might boost your energy. Some foods can provide a pick me up and help you feel more energized as the day goes on.

Including foods that provide several of the following: complex carbohydrates, fiber, protein, and healthy fats can help you sustain a longer boost of energy throughout the day. Examples of foods to include early in your waking hours are:

·         Avocados
·         Greek Plain Yogurt
·         Eggs with whole-grain toast
·         Oatmeal
·         Quinoa
·         Lentils
·         Seeds (pumpkin, pepita, or sunflower)
·         Nuts

Including these foods regularly will help you to prevent spikes in your blood sugar, increase your energy levels and provide a boost throughout the day. Try adding a serving or mixing these items during mealtime early in the day.
